Youth participants must be at least 8 years old, or be mature enough to understand Range Commands and the expectations of the class, in order to take lessons with us. Come and Try It!™ Basic Introductory Lesson
All Adult and Youth participants in beginner archery classes, first time league members, or first time Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) or Adult Achievement athletes must attend a Come and Try It!™ lesson class, or provide proof of having attended an equivalent program. During this class we will fit you for equipment, or, if you are using your own equipment we will check it for serviceability and fit. Please see our policy regarding personal equipment used forlessons. As part of this class we will also introduce the first drills and skills that will be built upon during subsequent lessons, including introduction to the KSL shot cycle (National Training System). You will learn the range safety commands, and how the range is operated. This is not “classroom only” we will have you up and shooting before the end of the class session.

Beginner Group Lessons
Our four week beginner program is a great introduction to the sport. Learn the basic steps of shooting in a fun and supportive atmosphere. We start with the targets at a close distance and by the fourth week you will be comfortably shooting at 10 Yards. Over the course of this program we will focus on shooting form, and basic skills and drills using the National Training System. We will also discuss scoring, types of target faces used for various archery games, and engage in some friendly competition.
Beginner group lessons are held on consecutive weekly dates (not including major holidays) and last approximately one and a half hours. Please see our Calendar page for the next upcoming adult or youth session, or call us to schedule a class that fits your schedule. Class size is limited so sign up early.
In order to participate in this program you must fill out the Beginner group lessons registration form and return it, along with payment and any required liability waiver and emergency contact forms. Youth under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian present during the program hours.
Pre-requisite: Completion of the Come and Try It! Class or equivalent program
Intermediate Group Lessons
Our four week intermediate program is the next step on your journey to becoming a competent archer. We continue to build on the skills and drills learned in the beginner program, and continue to move the targets out to greater distances each week, and finish up at a 20 yard distance. Along the way we will shoot a mock qualifying event, explore some new archery games, and strive to achieve personal best for scores.

Individual Lessons and Coaching
We recognize that group lessons may not be convenient for everyone, or that you may not need a lesson program to correct a shot issue, or to get help with a tuning problem. In order to best serve all of our customers individual lessons and coaching are available by the hour to individuals of all different ages and skill levels. All lessons must be scheduled in advance, so please call ahead to make a reservation with one of our certified instructors and start getting more out of every shot you make.
About our Lesson Programs
All of our lesson programs are open to archers shooting either recurve or compound bows, and you are welcome to use your own bow and tackle (including arm guards and finger tabs or release) during these programs, but the program focus is on developing proper shooting form, so recurve bows without a sight are the preferred starter bow. If you do not have your own equipment you may rent a bow and tackle from us for a small fee. We will provide arm guards and finger tabs for the beginner program, but archers enrolled in the intermediate program must purchase arm guards and finger tabs prior to the start of the program. We also suggest you bring a colorful shoelace at least 42” long to use as a finger sling. Recurve bow and tackle rental are available to archers enrolled in the intermediate lesson classes. If you are using your own bow and tackle they must be inspected ahead of the first lesson for condition, and fit.
Group lessons are pre-paid, held on consecutive dates (not including major holidays) and last approximately one and a half hours. If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson, please call us and let us know.
As is the policy with all of our youth lessons and league programs, archers under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian present during the lesson period. All youth archers under the age of 18 must have an emergency contact form on file, along with any other required forms and waivers. Adult archers may be required to provide a completed emergency contact form, along with any other required forms and waivers.
Personal Equipment Used for Lessons
If you are using your own bow and tackle for lessons they will be inspected ahead of the first lesson for serviceable condition, and fit. As you become more involved in our leagues and other programs we encourage you to own your equipment so that it may be tuned to provide you with the best performance. We reserve the right to limit the use of “toy” bows in our lesson programs where a personal bow may not have the limb strength to provide adequate target penetration, and create a safety issue. Reminder:Target Points Only, Please. Broad Head arrows are not allowed on any of our indoor or outdoor ranges at any time.
We will make every effort to make sure scheduled classes run, but there will be occasional times when due to weather conditions, we will have to make cancellations. If school has been canceled for the day check in with us regarding afternoon or evening classes. If the roads are safe and passable we will try to get them in. In the case of evening storms we will send out notice as early as possible regarding cancellation of any evening classes. Weekend cancellations will be posted on our website and Facebook page, and on local radio and television stations.
Please use caution when deciding whether or not you can safely travel for your lessons – your safety is our highest priority.
